Communication & Broadcasts

Send a private update to launch watchers

Queue a plain-text project update for eligible active watchers.

Who can use it
Owners and operators with Launch Watch communications access; Pro required
Where to find it
Community Command → Broadcasts, or Launch Control → Communications
Before you start
  • An eligible launch
  • Active watchers allowing project updates
On this page

Send an update

  1. Choose the launch you intend to communicate about. Confirm its name and current watcher information.
  2. Add an optional title, up to 120 characters.
  3. Write the update in plain text, up to 2,200 characters.
  4. Read the audience note. Only eligible active watchers who allow project updates are included.
  5. Press Send watcher update when ready. This queues the update for background delivery.
  6. Review recent updates and their delivery outcome in Launch Control → Communications.

What to expect

Sending creates a queued communication record; delivery can complete later. This is a private bot DM, not a public community post. The current update composer does not provide a scheduled-send or attachment workflow.

Respect member controls

Members must opt in using the launch’s bot link and Start. Stop Watching ends their watch subscription. Countdown preferences are separate from project update eligibility. Operators see aggregate audience information rather than a watcher identity list.

If no one receives it

Confirm the correct launch, active eligible audience and returned delivery status. Zero eligible recipients can differ from zero group members. If an outcome is unconfirmed, do not assume failure and resend blindly.

Service Partner boundary

With Launch Watch communications scope, a partner sends updates for existing eligible launches: choose Preview and send, review, then Send update. The client owner creates and publishes the launch and opens its watchlist. This scope does not allow lifecycle, schedule, contract or launcher administration.
